I want this space to not only be a place of consumption but also a place of creation

Hi everyone and Happy New year!

Not going to lie this has probably been one of the fastest years of my life. With all the things that have happened thus far, I wanted to maintain the momentum of slowly but surely working on myself.

Not in a toxic productivity way but in a desire to work with myself. Both past and present. In hopes of being a secure and serene person in the future.

With that being said, this section of my substack is called Us, Unfiltered because I want this space to not only be a place of consumption but also a place of creation. Not only for myself but for you guys.

I also wanted to create a sense of community in which we can all get to know and support each other through thick and thin.

This part of my substack will include many things specifically geared toward self-reflection and self-improvement. Nothing is too simple nor too complicated, and above all, this is to motivate each other on our journey to become centered in ourselves.

Right now, I have several small ideas including series such as WNRS and even going through the Artist’s Way together. These are just two ideas of many to come.

I do want to stress that in no way am I declaring that if you want to partake in these small journeys of self-reflection, they have to be publicized. It is all up to your discretion. I believe that everyone processes things differently and has a right to choose what they do with their thoughts.

So, even if it’s a small comment on the end of one of my excerpts or maybe even a like, that’s testament enough to me and to the rest of us that you’re part of this community.

Growing up, my emotions and thoughts were treated as too complex or inconvenient. They were treated as a nuisance, and that is how I have turned to writing as an outlet. Years of overthinking have made me realize that being able to write things on paper can release you from built-up tension.

A simple pen and paper is all you need, so if you feel up to it
